Eco-Conscious Parenting
Do you really need to be told more about what you should be doing as a parent?
Probably not! I sure don't, I'm usually confused enough on what and how much they should be eating, drinking, etc.
But if you want some super easy ideas for how to teach your kids about caring for our environment here they are! And no it's not perfect, but we are aware and awareness is important!
Use the compost instead of throwing food in the garbage.
Don't buy plastic water bottles, reuse Yetis, or whatever your favourite brand is instead.
Have them plant some veggies! Start with a bean plant! They can start it from the seed indoors and it teaches them about watering and taking care of something.
Turn off lights when not in a room.
Don't buy clothing based on (fast) fashion, patterns and colours that you won't want by next year. Buy quality to last and hand it down instead of throwing it out
Don't leave the tap running when brushing their teeth.
Plant trees, we plant a few every year, and we loose a few so hoping planting some helps.
Don't litter, or better yet pick up any litter you see and throw it out.
Use a coffee pot at home and compost the grinds instead of a Keurig.
There's so many other ways but if the kids get in the habit young they will be that much further ahead protecting their futures.
Do you have any other suggestions?
